The Journey

If Becoming had to wear a halloween costume, it would be a door. Grab for book 1 and you get pulled in. Book 1 says, “I have something to show you, come on.”

Rescued, then, would be the professor you meet when your first get there. Book 2 would be wearing that tweed coat with the leather elbows. It would have silver spectacles and allof the answers—plus a few new questions.

Recovery would be your friend. The buddy you meet who sings you a song when you’re sad and kind of lonely. Book 3 is the one you’ll want to spend time getting to know.

Book 1 is a doorway and Book 3 starts making you feel at home in the world you pretty much understand now.

Ah, the editing…

Having books 2 and 3 and my desk just gets me feeling the excitement of really having created something lovable. I feel the contrast between the two of them and I can’t wait to move you past them.

In the meantime, however, I have to edit them—and in the case of book 3—finish copying and pasting them into existance. My habit of writing test scenes is working out for book 3. All these little stories and carefully curated characters get to make an appearance. The main storyline is, of course, Michael and Jade’s, but I want you to be as excited for book 4 as I am.

Book 3 isn’t even ready for beta yet, but book 2 is on it’s way back this week. I’m pretty excited to see how it’s come out and to sink my teeth into deeper editing. Most of my bad habits were broken in professional editing in book 1, so book 2’s edit went faster and felt easier. I can’t wait to see how book 3 fairs in this stage.

What about the next one?

As for book 4? I have the material and the soft version of a plan. It will really depend on where the characters of book 3 take me—don’t worry, they haven’t failed me yet. I can’t wait to find out what happened to Wade—because by the time we make it to book 4 you’re going to be wondering too.

So, dear readers, I have my coffee and my sticky notes sitting next to my favorite pen and, of course, my writing music…

Time to get to work.

Love and Gratitude,
